Even with the financial burdon I'm facing right now, I could not feel richer. Why you might ask? It has nothing to do with money, but with where true wealth comes from, God - and the wealth of family & friends he has blessed me with. If not for them, I would not have the strength to make it.
It's something I thought about after the message at Church Sunday. Not that this was the point of the message, but God used it to make a point BEYOND what Pastor Tony was teaching.
"You can become rich by being
generous
or poor
by being greedy."
Proverbs 11:24b (CEV)
Now, think about what I said about where true wealth comes from and that verse makes SO MUCH SENSE. The value of a friendship is so much more. Sure, I could be greedy and save my money for my wants, but where would that leave me? While I may be in a tight space, if I can spend just a little of my money to help a friend, or make them happy, then the reward to me is more than worth it. God, Family and Friends are the three most important things you can invest in and the return on that investment can never be calculated by any accountant.
