War and Peace?

No, I'm not talking about the boat anchor of a book. I'm talking about being so dedicated to peace that we are willing to FIGHT for it. It sounds backwards, but show me a time in history that peace was acquired without it.

Those that claim Bush is a WAR MONGER and can't see why the fight in Iraq is so important to the cause of peace should read the words of George Washington:

"There is a rank due to the United States, among nations,
which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost,
by the reputation of weakness.

If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it;
if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful
instruments of our rising prosperity,
it must be known that we are at all times ready for war."

-- George Washington (Fifth Annual Message, 3 December 1793)
